Why is the country called GHANA?

Why is the country called Ghana

History has lied to us that the name Ghana was adapted from the old Mali empire and it was named after a great warrior called GANA. WHY???.....

Ever since Man stepped foot on this land, which nation have we gone to war with apart from the local inter tribal battles?....So why did the name changed from GOLD COAST and named after a warrior from Mali?....WHY??.
